Any ExaGrid appliance can be mixed and matched in the same scale-out system regardless of size or age, allowing customers to buy what they need as they need it. This approach supports up to 32 appliances in a single scale-out system, making it easy to expand without disruption.

Multiple systems can be deployed in a single site to support full backups up to petabytes. The largest HDD scale-out system handles up to 6PB, while the largest SSD scale-out system reaches up to 17.3PB, offering the largest single scale-out system storage capacity available on the backup storage market.

Note: A single system can consist of up to 32 HDD appliances of various ages or sizes, or 32 SSD appliances of any age or size, but must be homogenous within the same system.
